Microsoft Released The Latest Edition of Bing, Equipped With an AI Chatbot Similar To ChatGPT
As if not to be outdone, Microsoft officially introduced the latest version of Bing. The platform is equipped with chatbot technology similar to ChatGPT. The announcement of the latest edition of Bing was made by Microsoft a day after Google brought up Bard.
Microsoft in launching the new edition of Bing is partnering with the OpenAI company. That way, the search engine made by Microsoft has been integrated with artificial intelligence technology or known as AI.
So how is the ability of Bing made by Microsoft this latest edition?

The AI technology implemented in the latest Bing is the same sophistication for the ChatGPT operating system. Launching from Microsoft's official blog, they say that Bing uses the latest AI technology, and refers to technology made by OpenAI.
"Today we launched Bing and Edge which are powered by a variety of new AI technologies. This aims to make it easier for users to search for everything on the internet," wrote Microsoft Chairman and CEO, Satya Nadella,
Microsoft explains that the latest Bing has been equipped with a chatbot. The chatbot technology can be used in two configurations. First, the Bing chatbot will appear on the right in the search results page on Bing. In this configuration, the chatbot functions as an assistant to help the user explore more information regarding what the user is looking for.

Then the second configuration, the appearance of the Bing chatbot is similar to ChatGPT. But in Bing, the search results will display the footnote or source of the search results.
Even the appearance seems cleaner compared to ChatGPT. In this configuration the user can enter various questions to find the various information needed. Similar interface of OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Technically, this latest edition of Bing uses GPT 3.5 technology. This technology is an AI model that is also used by OpenAI in ChatGPT.
Why can this be done? The answer is because Microsoft is one of the companies that funded the development of OpenAI. In fact, their collaboration has been going on for the last few years, and will continue for the next few years.
Despite using the same technology, Microsoft claims that the latest version of Bing is much more sophisticated. It is proven that Bing can provide the latest answers and more detailed information.
Still Available on a Limited Basis
For now, Microsoft has not released the full version of Bing with AI technology to the public. The Bing platform is still using a limited edition, for only a few desktop versions. Microsoft also has not provided information for sure when Bing can be widely used.

However, users can try out the new version of Bing by visiting the official Bing website through the browser they use. Microsoft also added that the new version of Bing will be widely used. There is even a version to support mobile devices.
Apply AI Technology to Edge
As is known, Microsoft has a browser platform, namely Edge. Microsoft is not only adding technology to Bing, but they are also adding AI technology to Edge. There are two AI features implemented, namely Chat and Compose.
The Chat feature can be used by users to see the essence of an article they are reading. Meanwhile, Compose allows users to create text based on the topic being searched on the internet.
Both of these features will be available in Edge Sidebar. Users only need to access the vertical menu on the right side of Microsoft Edge. But unfortunately, Microsoft has not provided further information regarding when this feature can be widely used.
